The extraordinary bridge, standing 359 m over the riverbed, includes 93 decks, each gauging around 85 tons, and is on the single line connecting Katra (Jammu) with Qazigund (Kashmir), about 75 km away. It is a part of the 272-km long rail line from Udhampur to Baramulla that gets Jammu together with Kashmir valley. The 272-km long railway line will feature 38 tunnels having a total length of 119 kilometers with India’s longest tunnel T-49 (12.75 km), and 927 small and big bridges having a total length of 13 km.
