Turkey Lifts All Covid Related Restrictions For Indian

Here is a piece of good news for Indians who want to travel to Turkey this year. The government of Turkey has lifted all Covid related constraints for Indian tourists and travellers. The decision is made to boost Turkey’s tourism sector, as the nation is expecting tens and thousands of Indian Travellers to visit its beautiful hotspots.

Prior to the announcement, tourists and travellers entering Turkey from India had to show a double vaccination certificate or a negative RT-PCR test report. However, starting from 7 June 2022, Indian travellers can visit Turkey without any Covid-related documents, and revel in the country’s vistas without any hassle.


Turkey’s transcontinental culture clash, its east-west spice-mix of influences, flavours, cultures, religions and histories; bazaars and mosques, its food and arts; exoticism and romance makes it an intoxicating affair and one of the most visited tourist destination in the world. Turkey always sees a record tourist footfall from India every year. However, due to the pandemic, the story wasn’t the same for turkey tourism nor for the Indian travellers.

For those who don’t know, Turkey was voted as one of the top tourist destinations for leisure and Meeting, Conferences, and Incentive Travel and Events (MICE) tourists from across the globe.


India’s Indigo and Turkey’s Turkish Airlines have restarted direct flights to and fro and are expected to receive Indian tourists in huge numbers this year. Turkey recorded a 103 per cent growth in the tourism sector and nearly touched $25 billion in revenues since the pandemic broke in 2020. The country was visited by more than 30 million international tourists and travellers in 2021 amid a pandemic and is expected to welcome similar numbers this year again, Turkey is all ready to make a new record.
