Malaysia To Reintroduce Visa On Arrival For Indians Soon!

The government of Malaysia will momentarily restart providing visas on arrival to Indians.

To attract more tourists from India and revive the Southeast Asian nation’s tourism industry, Malaysia intends to reintroduce the possibility of a visa on arrival for Indians. As the Malaysian government has lifted the lockdown and relaxed the curbs on COVID; e-visas will be issued soon.

Moreover, the country has also lifted other restrictions including social distancing, whereas facemasks are optional and not mandatory in public places. If reports are to go by, the Southeast nation is also gearing up to relax all mandatory COVID relaxations to facilitate the travel of international tourists.

An Indian delegation representing Tourism Malaysia is in India to promote travel to Malaysia as part of reviving the Southeast Asian nation’s tourism industry. Manoharan Periasamy, Malaysia’s Senior Director of the International Promotion Division (Asia & Africa), told media persons at the event that the country eliminated all travel restrictions on April 1.

There are now 76 flights per week from India to Malaysia, of which 59 originate in South India. Bangalore is a key place from which travellers arrive,” he said. Visa on arrival was suspended during the pandemic but will resume in two months. He said e-visas will be processed within 2-3 working days, mostly for tourists.
