Cape Point Nature Reserve is a nature reserve located at the southern tip of the Cape Peninsula. The reserve also includes the iconic Cape Point, which is the southernmost point of Africa and the Cape of Good Hope, which is the westernmost point of South Africa. Managed by Thebe Tourism Group, the first black empowered tourism group, it is a top destination for those visiting South Africa.
About Cape Point Nature Reserve
The area is rich in animal species found here, including birds such as oystercatchers, cormorants, ostriches and the endangered and rare African coastal land penguins are among the many species of birds found here. Mammal species include leopard, spotted hyena, black-backed jackal, eunuch, mountain zebra and bontebok.

Best time to visit Cape Point Nature Reserve
It is recommended that you come either early in the morning or late in the evening to witness the spectacular views of sunset and sunrise over the bay area near Cape Point. The park is open throughout the year from 6 am to 6 pm in the months of October to March and from 7 am to 5 pm in the months of April to September.
How to reach Cape Point Nature Reserve
There is currently no public service that runs from the city of Cape Town to the nature reserve. You have two main options to reach Cape Point Nature Reserve:
By car: Rent a car in the CBD in Cape Town. Take a scenic drive of about one and a half hour from downtown Cape Town to the park and enjoy the smooth roads and the beauty of nature on your way.
by bus: Another option is the Cape-Point Explorer Bus Service. Cape-Point Explorer Bus Services has fully air-conditioned buses with multilingual guides and each of them is at least fluent in English.
