1) Konark Sun Temple:

This temple was built in the 12th century by King Narasimha Deva I during his reign from 1238 to 1264 AD. It is situated at Konark, Puri District on the bank of Chilika Lake which is known as ‘Sun Temple’. The temple was dedicated to Surya (Sun God) and it has been declared one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1984.


2) Jagannath Temple:

Jagannath Temple or Jagannath Puri Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Krishna who is popularly known as “Jagannath”. The temple has three main deities – Lord Jagannath (Lord Vishnu), Lord Balabhadra (Lord Shiva), and Goddess Subhadra (Sister of Lord Krishna). The annual Rath Yatra festival draws millions of devotees from all over India every year who come here to pay their respects.

3) Lingaraja Temple, Bhubaneswar:

It is famous for its exquisite carvings and sculptures on stone walls and ceilings. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has many shrines dedicated to other gods like Vishnu, Brahma, Saraswati, and Ganesh. The temple is famous for its architecture which includes thousands of sculptures depicting various scenes from Hindu mythology.

4) Mukteswar Temple:

Mukteswar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva who is worshipped as Mukteswar or Mukti-Swaroop (the Lord who frees from bondage). It is one of the Panchakarma Kshetras, the five sacred dhams of Shaivism in India. The temple has a unique architectural style with its tall shikhara, carved pillars and walls adorned with sculptures and reliefs.


5) Raam Mandir:

Raam Mandir is a very famous temple in the city of Bhubaneswar (the capital of Odisha). The main deity of this temple is Lord Rama, who is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple is made up of sandstone and stone and has beautiful architecture that attracts thousands of tourists every year.

6) Maa Taratarini Temple:

Maa Taratarini Temple is situated in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This temple holds great importance in the Hindu religion as it is believed that Goddess Taratarini protects all those who come here with pure hearts and open minds.

7) Gundicha temple:

Gundicha temple is one of the most important temples in Puri. It is dedicated to Lord Jagannath and his sister Subhadra. This temple is located near the shore of the Bay of Bengal. The temple is built in the typical Kalingan style of architecture, which is characterized by its tall spires and intricately carved sculptures depicting various Hindu gods and goddesses. It has been said that Lord Jaggannnath stayed here for 9 days during the Rath Yatra.
